What use would one have for the anchor? Not having it won't lower the value of your watch. It's not like not having the papers for the watch.

The 18k gold anchor was only released with the first gold submariner model 1688. It's 18k gold plated. Don't think you can verify its authenticity unless you have the watch and papers to go with it.

If you just want to verify if the plating is really 18k gold or not, be it a replica or original Rolex issue, I suppose you can bring it to a pawn shop or a jeweler. But they can only verify the gold and not the Rolex authenticity.
