Rolex is a very conservative company, they usually won't go into new materials very often. They are best friends with Gold and SS, that's all I can say.Originally posted by Teogc View PostWondering why there isn't any Titanium model made for Rolex?

They use titanium for the tudor pelagos and I read that some said it is dull & ugly and wished it comes in SS...
For expensive watches especially, the general acceptance is lower for titanium as compared with SS, and rolex produce watches for the masses, you know...Watches are like potato chips - You never stop at one
Never political, seldom diplomatic, always honest

Actually, I'm wondering if this might happen for Basel World 2013.
For the past few years, improvements have been made to the movements and bracelets. Then came the ceramic bezels.
Could the next big think be the introduction of exotic materials? Maybe not titanium but ceramic, tungsten carbide or DLR coated cases?

Nah...more likely carbon fibre dials, hands, etc...cos although carbon fibre is very strong/tough & light as in bodies of F1 cars, but it's kinda brittle & snaps easily for the casing to be able to take on hard knocks imho?Originally posted by leonmike View PostHow about carbon fibre for the case? Like what they do for supercars's bodies?
