aiya.. almost every rolex watch got a chance to be 'in demand'...
kind of like a rotational thing...
no1 expect red sub and orange hand to be collectible 10 yrs ago...
      no1 expect comex too...
      see what happened?
if your watch can smile at you, someday it will smile at others also..

Well....to be fair to a great watch, back in 1999-2001....the Explorer II (both black & white dial) hit prices up to about SGD$9500 & soldout worldwide. Retail price back then, was about $4800? Every watch has it's day!!

This is from memory, so please don't quote me...

          Cheers!

            Rolex Submariner vs Explorer 2

Would you buy a preowned Submariner or Explorer 2? The Submariner uses caliber 3135 and Explorer 2 uses caliber 3185. It seems that 3135 is common because the Datejust also has the same movement whereas the 3185 are used in GMT models only. Which would you buy?

3185 is the same base as the 3135 - 3130.

The new Explorer 2 42mm uses a new movement 3187, a 3186 with their in-house paraflex shock absorbers. Many online reviewers rated this improvement highly!!

the 3187 in the 216570 has a bigger plate (~2mm?), like the movements in DD2 and DJ2.

ExpII fan here for me not b'cos i own 1, but more suited for me when i travel due to its GMT function. Then again sm of u may ask y not get a GMTII? Ans is simple, the PCL bracelet is a scratch magnet, 40mm vs. 42mm (like bigger watches), etc...
