Overseas and local ad any price different

I wish to know if there's a different in price between local and overseas ad. Thank you very much.

this has been discussed many times

retail price is almost the same in any country, with a very slight variation probably <2% depending on exchange rates
likewise the quality of the watches are the same, they all come from the same rolex factory (unlike LV where some are made in France, some in Spain)

more importantly, the major price difference in buying local and overseas is the tax rebate

if you buy from europe, you will get a 12-15% VAT rebate when you bring the watch back to singapore
likewise if you are a tourist visiting singapore, you will get a 5-6% GST rebate when you leave Changi airport
these are on top of the AD's discounts, if any

however, upon returning to the country of residence, the local government will charge you the tax accordingly
eg if you bring a newly-purchased rolex from europe back to singapore, changi airport customs will tax you the 7% base on your receipt

not forgetting if you pay by card overseas, the credit card company will charge you a few percentage for the service and exchange rates

In other words, its usually cheaper to purchase from oversea AD. Thats if u can get by without paying GST, but thats illegal if u do not declare
