  • Seadweller investment?

I admit to having been caught up in the old appreciating Seadweller discussion last year and took the plunge and bought one. At the time I paid more than what the watch sold for when new. I love it but over the prevailing 16months the price has been fairly stagnant and I wonder if it has levelled out. Is there a massive demand for these watches or is it all hype?

Think the hype is over now
Price is quite stagnant between 6 to 7k
Anything above 7k is hard to sell

the sea dwellers were produced by the tens of thousands every year from 1980s right to 2010.

its all hype. want something that appreciates? get a comex, military sub, or double red sea dweller

I think watches should never be deemed as an investment tool to profit from . Better to buy them for the love of using them .... I'm sure there are better investment opportunities to place your money in for higher returns eg equity market

I agree that we shouldn't look to watches for an investment, it will depreciate that much is a given however there is no doubt that even at the levels mentioned elsewhere in these posts the SD has maintained a respectable level in relation to pricing. My Ad told me the other day that the DSSD would likely be discontinued with another brought out to commemerate the James Cameron dive so that may also have an effect. In anycase thanks for the feedback!
