Having read the whole 10 part series, I think the story was good right up to President Eisenhower accepting his Date Just in yellow gold. What a fascinating story! The conspiracy theories that followed, i'm not sure... I'm only interested in the watch...

    Kt2u,
May I extend a salute of gratitude to u for the knowledge that u have shared on this thread! I have been reading the history off n on since last nite and this afternoon, and I'm only at part 3.... The history is so rich! And I particularly enjoy the historical correspondences between Rolex and DDE.
    Thank u very much!

the second hand IS beginning to look a little moldy...! i might do just that, but do you know the method by which they lift the hands off?

as i'm going to wear this watch daily, i'm looking for a black DD dial to help make it stand out less. please PM me if you know where i should be poking around.

    Yes, still FOC.

Quoted approx 1K for overhaul ! I think sooner or later, I gotta do it consider age of watch and never done any servicing before.

    Hi

Yes, I mean the former. It opens up occasionally when I move around. Will go to RSC to get it done.

Also probably can ask for a quote for servicing.

    Thanks for the help!

    Hi Keru,
when you say "clasp is loose" do you mean the bracelet come off easily, like when you wave or throw a punch the clasp opens up?
if this is what you mean, go RSC and they can tighten it in 5 mins for free.RSC have a special tool.

and it become so tight like new watch.

but if you mean bracelet, DA is correct, you have to change a new one.
