also i dont think 6K can get any Brand new Rolex. unless its from grey market. Rolex Explorer listed price as $8520.

Datejust II 16300 should listed at 9340 if i am not mistaken, after discount, you will get around 8.5K - 8.7K in Singapore. HK selling SGD 8.7K after discount.

If u really like the new crown clasp on the bracelet, then go for the "newer" 179174 as the "older" 79174 won't have that. Internally, they both use the same rolex calibre 2235 introduced since 1999, so the difference between the 2 models are just cosmetic. Cheers & happy shopping!

thanks! I'm still considering if it's worth the price difference if its just aesthetic difference between the 2 models. I was told 179174 is heavier compared to 79174. is there a difference in material as well?

i'm thinking of getting a ladies datejust, silver oyster perpetual face with diamond dial. i am considering between 79174 and 179174. i like the new crown clip bracelet for 179174 but if i were to get a 2nd hand, the difference between 79174 and 179174 is about $2k. was offered $5580 for 79174 and $7880 for 179174 at HJ watch. which design should i go for? what is the difference between 79174 and 179174? TIAs!!
