Was offered one for $1000.
Is it rare as claimed by the seller?

those are aka burlwood dials. akin to meteorite and MOPs, each is different. not very rare as smartyjones has pointed out. range from 500 to 1k for almost NOS.

issue is light colour wood dial doesn't stand out from yG case... that's my personal views. perhaps smartyjones's pyramid is even rarer.. LOL!!

No DDD king, these are quite common dials, wont be getting DD head for each and single one, some are my replaced dials , some new, some old.

You need to take extra care for wood dial, not super rare.

And how do you differentiate between the quickset and the non-quickset types?
Are the mounting lugs different or somothing else on them?

Pie pan dials are non quickset for 1803 and no mountings behind. quickset dial has 2 and is flat.
