  • Sub nd or Exp2 40mm for daily beating?

Good Morning Bros, recently someone offer to trade his SUB ND (U series, No B/P) with my EXP 2 (K series, No B/P). He wanted to do a one to one exchange..Just feeling sad how come EXP 2 so no value ah

personal decision. expII has a lower market saturation compared to sub ND.

as a result it is perceived as a "lower class".

if i were your friend, i would keep the subND, as it command a stronger position in resale market.

Technically, Exp2 is bit more complex than Sub because of the 24 hour hand. The price is not just depend on technical complexity alone. The watch's aesthetic, material cost, hype and availability among other things are taken into account too.

IMO, SUB garnes better "value" because of demand. People want to own it is because of its historical reason and good looking classic simple 3 hands watch. Some do not prefer a GMT watch because it is more tedious to set the date and they only refer to the 2nd time zone once in a blue moon. Even then, you have a HP / PC handy

              no i dont mean that.

just that, when comes to resale on the open market, the expII never seems to command a very high price.

compare that with sub/SD/gmt - those watches seem to have outperformed the expII in the value retention

Personally find Sub ND is incomplete for ROLEX, date function is important. also Sub ND resale value currently is lower than Exp II. My friend who owned a Sub ND sold it away, as he shared the same feeling of ND.

My advice is to keep the Exp II and for get about Sub ND, may be buy a Sub that is a better choice.

Although the resale value for Exp II is low, but can't help it to complete the collection of sport series.... must buy one... Hence, that also the last I bought

Sub nd or Exp2 40mm for daily beating?

Hi, I really can't decide b/w buying a Sub nd or Exp2 40mm (white) as my daily beater, sports and rough wear. Currently, I own the GMT2c and Subc LV. One thing that I really like and prefer about the old models is how the sapphire crystal sits higher than the bezel.

I like the simple yet rugged look of the Sub nd. As for the Exp2, the GMT function and it being a white dial rolex sport (as I don't like milgauss and chrono watches). Btw, can anyone advise if the GMT function for Exp2 works the same as GMT2C?

Looking for preowned, >10-year-old. Therefore, pricewise should be about the same. I'm really torn, appreciate your comments and help.
