  • Should I get my Daytona now?

    Hi all Gurus,

I a newbie here and would like to seek some kind advise.

I am so wanting to buy my 1st Daytona SS (as can only afford the SS model lor) but word has it a new model is coming soon. Not so much about wanting the new model but the thought of the older model's price dropping does make me think twice to buy now.

And secondly, a friend recommended an AD to me who offered a new Daytona SS for 15k - is this a good deal?

Sorry for the queries but its a lot of $$ for me so I am deliberating.

Thanks in advance for all advise!

    Welcome to the forum

Whether a new Daytona model will surface in this coming BaselWorld 2012 is anybody's guess. There was also rumor about the Submariner 14060M coming out with a new model but a recent check with an AD proved otherwise . Even so, that a new Daytona is introduced, the price of the current model may not drop. At least not now or even in the next few years.

As for the $15K Daytona you are being offered, did you state which color? If it's white, the deal isn't that great. The black one at $15K is not bad, taking into consideration that the list price now is $14,980.

Oh, I didn't know that the black fetches a higher price/demand than the white. I thought the white faced looked bigger and more catchy. Btw, the daytona is white faced. Mmmm.....now may think thrice about getting it......Thanks for your info!

Thanks.....so is 15k for the white SS not a good price? I was given the impression that it was just a couple of hundreds above the list price hence quite reasonable - almost snapped at it but managed to keep cool and think for a few more days.

          Please keep the views coming.....thanks!

My issue is not willing to pay above list price for the SS Black dial model. Any local ad is selling at list price? And got stock?

It is not that easy to buy ss Daytona at list price from most AD in the world as the watch is most of the time selling at premium cost.

Ya, Bro. SS or precious metal, there will always be someone who are willing to buy. But I just hope that it is in SS, so it is more affordable and more resistant to scratch for daily wear. (my 2 cents opinion).
