Today pay my usual AD a visit, was told that resale value for black dial is better than white dial in our local market as the demand for black dial is higher. issit true? can any1 confirm?

Yea, usually the black dial is being sold for more than the white one, whether it's brand new or used. I've heard Rolex makes more Daytona with white dials than black, therefore the supply for the black one is less than the white one. Of course this applies to SS version. Can anyone confirm this too?

I've heard that in Asia context, the black dial is more popular than the white dial. Not only Daytona, but also the Explorer IIs and Milgauss'. It's more of some superstitious issue. I know of some Chinese people who believe that the white dial do not bring them good luck or something, especially in their work/businesses.

if i were u, i would save 1k -100 and get a grey set than local AD. unless u want to build relationship with AD, then get from AD. else grey dealer

totally agree. no real difference between local ad and overseas ad (usually for grey dealers) so long its authentic.

local ad may give you some freebies like pouch, pens, catalogues etc..
but for that it will cost you 1K. it will not fetch you 1k more should you decide to sell in future because its local ad.
