Hello to all the sifu and sijie,

I'm new here and being following some of the discussions while looking for my very first Rolex watch.

I have decided (maybe a very impulsive decision) and say ‘yes’ to a seller last night. The good thing is this seller willing to keep the SD (16600 "Y" series) for me until I pay him next week since I’m now out of the country. I was looking for Sub for some time but no suitable unit so far. Hence, not sure about the price of SD in the market.

The seller is a friend of a trusted friend of mine and working as a technician in Rolex MY in KL. My friend bought one Rolex from him 2 years ago. He will get the SD checked and serviced before hand it over. I need to pay SGD 6000 for this SD and according to him the overall rating is 90++% (I just have to trust him since I knowledge very little on this and my friend will help to check the SD today). I still have the option to say ‘no’ to him now (he agreed if I do not what it, he will look for new buyer). The feeling is mixed now…..

If I remember correctly, Sub is lower price than SD when new from the shop, but looks like the preowned units are in the same price range? Why? SGD 6000 reasonable?

go with ur feelings bro..but one word of advice, do send in to RSC for verification.

i personally feel it's kinda of ex for a Y series at $6K, i may be wrong but it's just my feel; somewhere are $5.5 to $5.7k sounds reasonable.

Try those shops outside, especially where the watch maker offer serving, they might have the parts.
