I got the date as I use that complication. A watch without the date complication seems less than basic.
Just like how a watch with a chronograph is overkill... how many of us actually use it to time something? You run 2.4km with your daytona?

with no date you dont have to worry about the grime that accumulates around the cyclops. darn hard to keep that area clean too.
