Sorry to hi-jack the thread. Because was planning to get a sub tt. So the half gold part is 18k solid gold? Because heard from my friend is plated gold instead. Isit true?

18k solid gold bro.. Rolex don't have any gold plated models.. All solid gold one...

Congrats on ts who chose the tt sub.. I prefer the old model 16613LN OR LB.. And the new model 116613LB only cos the new tt black sub doesn't have gold wordings on the dial and date wheel while the blue has.. That's how i chose mine..

Yup... That's why i chose this sub cos my old 16613ln had golg wordings and i grew accustomed and very fond of that dial... Only the diamond dial 116613ln has gold wordings on it... Don't know why rolex didn't use the same with the normal dial 116613ln...

18k gold is soft and yet within hardness grade for making watches and jewellery. Yes, unfortunately it does become a scratch magnet.

It's even more a scratch magnet cos the gold links are all in polished finish...
