Bro i just traded my GMT 16710 D series to a private dealer. I can recommend you if you are still keen.

My first Rolex was a sub and my 2nd is a GMT2 16710 black. Distinctive differences: a sub has matt sides on its links, where a GMT has polished sides. Which makes it looks shinier on the wrist. And also the GMT case is thinner comparing to a sub (the sea dweller is thicker than a sub), and lastly, its bracelet clasp is thinner as well. It meakes the GMT looks unique and noticeable from far. However, not sure about the new 116710, because dont really like its two-tone bracelet.

I got both too ...but decided to flip it for a hulk after getting bored with the PCL for a while

Sub is just too common. GMT is preferred buy I will go for Daytona as price is really good now. Its a iconic piece as well.

GMT for me too. Better if it's a vintage piece
I too have gone through the "struggle" of deciding whether to go for the GMT or Sub. Ultimately, I decided to look for a GMT simply because it's the watch that got me interested in Rolex. But weirdly enough, a Rolex that I still don't own
hopefully I can find a reasonably priced vintage one soon

If both comes at the same price i would rather go for the GMT master 2! Looks more flashy!
