i actually prefer this heavier bracelet...somewhat more modern...

hope it loosens up nicely in a few days...

oh... anyone has any idea about the power reserve of this watch when fully wound?

Rolex Men 6694 Date w White Indices & Thick Bracelet

        Hi

I am new and this is my first posting. I intend to get a watch in ebay.

        http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWN:IT&ih=016

I am not sure if it is a good buy. Any expert can comment?

        Thanks

            my dad's 6694

I had it redeemed back from the pawnshop in 2003 for $500 when i just started working. it was in bad shape, crooked hands, plexi full of scratches. being relatively young, i was abit annoyed. went to RSC for an overall overhaul to make it good as new. The quotation was a whopping $1500!!!!!
i considered it and decided to get it done, and it came back spanking new! i was grinning from ear to ear as it was a truly great experience to own the first rolex in my life. However later on i regretted having to change the plexi, the dial and the hands, as the change has removed what it is precious and special to the watch. Its history.........
But it was this watch that got me sucked into this crazy hobby of watch collecting since then i went into modern rolex, omega, panerai and JLC. i m lucky that i have not stepped into the realm of the big 3!
4yrs later i went back further then where i had started and bought my first vintage sub a 1680.

            thanks for looking.
