looking through my safe box of the other day and took photos of the original paper /guarantee for this 1963 day date.

In the early 60s, it was not just a piece of paper or card but rather in a booklet like this :-

now this page of AD to me is the most interesting because it shows a RSC in Cuba Havana!!
if you are a history nut like me, you will know that 1963 is also the year the US made travel, financial and commercial transactions by US citizens to Cuba illegal after the Fidel Castro took over! this embargo lasted the next 50years till recently obama relaxed it.

this book printed a year earlier would have been one of the last few prints to contain this RSC Havana address!

and also no RSC singapore because this is before our independence in 1965.

haha yea bro I remember your luv for Cuba and their cigars... Fidel's militia probably walked in with their machines guns and took over RSC and whatever rollies in there plus free lifetime of servicing and maintanance by RSC staff there.

I watched this program on channelnewasia recently about cuba, everything there cars, buildings, deco is exactly how it is for bast 50years!

i believe rolex opened a "centre" in cuba in 1958, and it has moved a few times since... we must remember that cuba was once a very prosperous country, so they've had more than a few dealers.

up to this day, many senior cuban officers wear rolex watches (GMT Masters/II are popular). AFAIK, there is still a rolex facility (independent?) in vedado, havana. whether they have moved since obama, i'm unsure...

i'm sure rolex.com has more up to date information...
