  • Can anyone tell me more about this 2 watches

    My dad left me this 2 watches when he passed away. Appreciate if someone can tell me more about them, e.g. how old are they and how much is their value now. Thanks.

    Not really sure of the model. But I think the serial number is 344XXXX.

    I believe the model for this is 1665. The serial number is 406XXXX.

    Congrats on the 1665... it's a keeper. I believe resale prices are about SGD14k onwards depending on completeness of the set and physical condition. you can check Vintage Rolex Forums for a guage. Just post the pictures and ask for the expert opinions there.

      Hi there,

      The 1665 that is pictured, was born a Double Red Sea Dweller...

      Pity that it has had it's original red dial replaced with a later white dial.

      The correct dial should be a DRSD MK 4 dial.

      The crown, hands & bezel insert have been replaced too.

      Nice watches, none the less...

      3.44mil = 1973
      4.06mil = 1975

      I shall not try to ascertain the values of your watches....perhaps the rest can chime in.

      Cheers!

        Thanks for the info. It is nice to know the history and origin of the watch. Just wondering, is it possible to restore the 1665 to its original dial? As I am not looking at selling, is it worth restoring if it is even possible at all?

        Cheers!
