  • A Journey restoring a Vintage 6466 Oysterdate Precision

After reading all the great inputs and seeing all the wonderful pictures by forum members here, decided to give my dad a surprise by re-living his made in 3rd quarter 1956, Oysterdate Precision for his upcoming 79th birthday in April.
Note: Do pardon the amatuer photo taking skills ...

    Details
Manufactured date: 3rd Quarter of 1956
Original Guarantee card date: 18th June 1957
Place bought: Christmas Island (when it was still Singapore property!)

Before polishing and restoring; with original tag and certificate (bottom part of cert shown ... not sure i should show the pic of the original cert. Need to read the forum rules first). Original black dial replaced with gold dial in 1964 (have original invoice). Bracelet not original as Dad was using it daily before he retired.

With Authentic Acrylic cyrstal (replaced back in 1986)

    The famous Crown

    The Cover-back

The inside of the Cover-back (with new seal)

Thanks! Yes, i am definitely replacing the bracelet. Presently have just put on a normal Leather and buckle set from Top Hour and gotten rid of the bracelet

Still wondering should i source for a Genuine bracelet (with clasps from the 60's - if i can find it) or should i get a Genuine Croc/Lizard skin Leather with SS genuine buckle. (for that Vintage feel). The problem here is it's a 17mm at the lugs! I've tried searching but so far not successful.
Any sellers or any suggestions, is most welcome!

haha , that's what Kason from Top Hour and his wife said. They were impressed at the plastic cover for this Warranty card, my dad stitched to keep it in. He was also happy to see the original Invoice in 64 when my dad replaced the black dial at the place where he started as an apprentice back in 1974.
