  • Rogues Gallery

Rather than a traditional SoTC, I thought I'd do a gallery of those watches which I've put up for sale in the last little while. Some went on to be sold, others still unsold, and others withdrawn from sale, but what they all share is that I've wanted to get rid of them at some point or other.

          Thanks

Thanks all. It's interesting to look back and think of how they changed in my estimation over time. Sometimes, little details that were initially bothersome become unbearable; other times, the bothersome details fade away; and other times still, they mark important events and become something else altogether. Ghost, are you reading this?

Great taste (well, similar to mine at least) for dress watches. I see a couple of pieces I have my eye on as well.

                  Breguet

Yes, the frosted dial is quite amazing, and changes from a bright yellow to a deep "smoldering" golden pink depending on the light. It's at the latter when the blue and pink of the screws and jewels really come out. Girls seem to be quite very fascinated by it though. Must be a combination of the openwork and the visible powertrain. A bit of bling too (but not too large at 37mm), which also seems to catch uncles' eyes...

Thanks psee. I wonder if it's a sign of fickleness though that only one is in currently in the "never to be sold" category.

I guess that must be the patek. Extremely beautiful and flawless.

                          Got it!

Yes, indeed, thanks. The date at six bothered me a little somewhat, initially, but now I think it's a good way to add some focus to the bottom half of the dial, to balance out the text under twelve.

It's great, and not just you...

Girls love it, but the uncles hate it because the frosted gilt "out-golds" their DJs!
