  • My new Omega PO and its new scratch... haiz...

    Hi guys,

I just bought a brand new PO yesterday. Love the colour because it matches my specs and my company name card.

Now here's the scratch. Just now I slipped and fell. The watch actually saved my wrist. But seeing a scratch on the second day of wearing very heart pain.

Can any bro please advise what should I do with the scratch? Will it get rust easily or not?

Oh no! 2nd day only, sure heart pain like hell.

But rest assure, it will not get rusty easily.

You may consider to send for polish, but I would suggest leave it at it is first. Untill you really buay tahan. Personal opinion thou.

Since its still brand new and just bought, just leave it until there are more scratches due to desk diving before doing a light polish.

Anyway it looks kind of cool to me. It has the dragon feature look on it. IMO.

        Cheerios.

Sorry to hear bro. But jus like a car, you will get over the first scratch. The good thing is tht the main part of the watch is fine. If can't than u may want to use cape cod polish cloth which works on shiny type steel surface. Dun use it for brushed surface. I am nt sure wht surface in on ur watch bracelet.

Just realized there are actually more scratches. Anyway, got to get over it.

I think the bracelet is matt finish, not the shiny type. However, never realized the scratch is dragon like. Maybe I should sell it during the year of dragon. May fetch higher value as it is the only PO in the World with dragon mark.

If I were you I would be happy that the scratches are on the clasp not the case or bezel. You should worry least about the clasp as it will get scratches very soon anyway due to desk diving, and this part of the watch is not visible most of the time when worn on the wrist.

Try not to polish a watch bought new. Real collectors would prefer an original unpolished piece with scratches, over a polised "mint" piece.

I remember many many years ago I was wearing my ex-omega SMP chrono and I crashed my motorbike (i did 2.5 rolls) ..yes, with the watch on my wrist. While I was in shock (then) I forgot about my omega and it was only after few days that I recalled crashed down with the smp...but strangely, the smp didnt suffer any scratches, but i sure did!! Must be God holding my watch!! LOL

Bro its a really nice watch and yeah I share your pain, not to worry, your watch will not rust due to the scratch as its main from stainless steel. The scratch is on the clasp so my suggestion is leave it, the clasp will get alot more scratches very soon so once you have collected more and more scratches, then one shot go polish, more worth it IMO. Cheers on your new catch and wear it in good health!
