  • My Precious Seiko Marine Masters - SBDX001 and SBDX011 - MM300 and Darth Tuna Auto

Which one to buy for a start, if you are into Seiko JDM (Japan Domestic Market) Marine Masters ....

The similarity with both of them is the Grand Seiko grade auto movement 8L35.

And i believe its stop there, its like comparing Omega SM300 and the ploprof .... like apple and orange ....

The MM300 will seems to be a better deal, come with both bracelet and extra rubber strap, same movement, and lighter price tag !

The sbdx011 , only watch head with rubber strap, you even have to buy extra PVD buckles if you wanna mount it on leather straps too ! I had bought dozens of PVD buckles previously before deciding on B&R buckle which suits it best and even got an extra buckle for future too !

MM300 is everyone entry level auto movement in the marinemaster series, like the SM300 .

Whereas the sbdx011, the next auto tuna after 6159, is a iconic watch like the ploprof !

And pointers to note, MM300 is never cheap to begin with, its the sudden surge of stocks in our open market that causes the big price difference, if you notice the thong sia price tag, the differences is about $850 !

And of course the sbdx011 is much more rarer in our open market .

Just my point of view, enjoy the pics !

Hi Gurus, I've lusted for a Sbdx011 / sbdb005 for a long time. Could not decide on which.

So far I have only own a few JDM Seiko 5 and a few Citizen eco drive including the Ecozilla and a few G shock which I wear most of the time (13yr old DW5600), a Tag and a Breitling.

I almost drop the hammer on the SBDX011 but something keeps holding me back.

I'm afraid it gets scratched up and looks worn and ugly very quickly. How good is the black finishing? Normal watches scratched can be polished but the black coating?

How well does the black coating hold up to wear and tear? Am I better off buying the Sbdn005 and not worry about scratches?

I imagine a scratch or dent on a black finish would be more obvious.....I know...I drive a black car...

Any advice or experience from SBDX011 owners?

So far I must say I have good experiences with the coating on my Emp tuna.

None of my friends with the same watch complained of scratches as well. Understand your concerns but on the sbdx, rest assure that they would hold well!

                          Cheers
