  • Help me decide Rolex vs AP

My 1 and only Rolex now, I am thinking of selling it to buy a new AP or trade it for a used AP.
How much should I top up and it is worth to do that?
I have both coke and pepsi insert.

    My decision

My decision is keep rolex & buy a 2nd hand AP,since the AP price dropped recently & surprisingly Rolex price are raised up quick alot on sport model.
    Good luck

Very much depends on whether you still like and want to continue owning the GMT. VictorT has given you quite sound advice and I think it should be so. But if you have no want to keep the GMT, then you can consider to trade or sell it, since the price now for a GMT like yours can fetch you quite a decent sum.

You did not specify which particular AP model(s) you are after so it is hard to give you even a rough top-up amount.

If it was me and I can afford it, I will keep the GMT and buy an AP

Keep the Rolex. Buy new or preowned AP for 0% instalment. Most of the retailers have 12,24,36 or 40 months IPP.

End of the day its what watch excites you when you wake up.

but if you look longer term. I feel like Rolex is cheaper to maintain, better resale, tougher watch.

            I have not looked back.

I can't afford to have both Rolex and AP, will consider keeping then.

Totally agree... No point in having something that does not appeal, and only for it to sit in the watch box.

AP is more special. Everyone has a Rolex..

My view of Rolex is it is a boring watch..

I have the same idea few years back oso. Then I go and check AP watch general repair cost. Cost range is not within my comfort zone. So i drop the idea.

I went to the AP boutique recently to check the cost of changing a STAINLESS STEEL bezel on a Royal Oak. The staff informed that it would cost "a few thousand dollars"

When asked why it was so costly, she explained that although it was only STAINLESS STEEL, every piece of the bezel and screws were "handmade" and "hand-assembled"

I've been asking myself if I should buy an AP
