My definition of balance between car and watch = spend less on car, so that can buy more watches

To me is definitely affiliated, i always go for watches that matches either my car colour or the dash board colour. The BMW logo certainly matches the watch and the white dial AP goes along with the white colour of my car.

Actually, I think watches and cars have a natural affinity in the measurement of time - chronographs and racing go hand in hand. Watches like Rolex Daytona, TH Monaco, Chopard Gran Turismo all have racing heritage in them.

Plus the fact that both appeal quite strongly to the same demographic, namely adult men, brand tie-ups have been quite common. I personally owned a Chopard Gran Turismo Alfa Romeo Ltd Edn when I was driving an Alfa.

if I collect porcelain I must get the GO Meissen? If I buy the YM2, I must go get a boat? So cannot wear YM2 to drive car? If wear Red Devil Bang must wear football boots....

Horology and automotive are completely different, unless you are considering it as a status symbol. Like then you would also want your pen, cufflings, dogs, house, wallet, jewellery, phone to balance....

I totally agreed with you on that. I find that collecting watch or any hobbies is a very humbling experience because there is always a higher mountain out there, no one is an expert.

I do not see any 'balance' or that a watch is any way related to an automobile

Unless of course that watch in particular is produced for a particular car brand/model such as the Jaeger-LeCoultre Aston Martin AMVOX1, AMVOX2 Chrono Racing & AMVOX3 Tourbillon GMT, the Breitling Bentley series, Hublot's Aero Bang Morgan, Porsche Design range of watches, etc. Not to forget also the IWC's AMG model, Panerai for the ferraris and Blancpain for their lamborghini models.

How to link if I wear a ROLEX watch and is driven around daily by public transport?
