Just bought my first ever rolex. Datejust 116234.

Was actually planning to buy a few months later as a birthday present to myself but after AD telling me price might increase (sales tactic ) I thought I better lock in the price 1st. The tough part now is to delay gratification till my birthday before I wear it out....(and peel the stickers)....hehe. Think I will probably lose the battle....too tempting.

Anyone can advise whether its ok to leave the watch unworn for a few months without a winder??

Photo also shows a gold daydate from my grandfather. I'm a total noob. Does anyone know how much I can get for it if I sold it. No papers, no box. Only a leather pouch.

    Thanks in advance.

it would be no issue to leave it there. Congrats on the purchase, pics?
Don't trust anyone too much, even your own shadow leave you when you are in darkness.

Congrats! I think it's fine to leave the unworn watch without any winder. I don't have a winder. I only wind my watches manually on a regular period, though there are many watch lovers use winders.

Courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen

Ya I love the jub bracelet too. Esp since I've got a small wrist. Even after removing many links, the bracelet still doesn't look 'stunted' cos the links continue over the clasp, instead of being cut off at the buckle.

Love the 36mm case too. Watches are getting bigger nowadays so it's good to be able to get the 'classic' size and still not look like I'm a kid wearing my fathers watch haha

haha..... I like how you think Alexlow...

variety is, after all, the spice of life. and i think the DJ is a good starter watch..
                          and i like "classic" stuff...

besides i will only have one 'first rolex'...so i think its a keeper.
