Ha, Bicester is great and you should definitely have a look. Funny thing though, I've gone shopping there at least half a dozen times now and I've never bought anything (except for food at the Pret!). Yet I keep going back... The Fat Duck is not too far away as well...
You need deep pockets for Fat Duck, reservations like 6 weeks in advance, and at least 4 hrs for lunch
Aiyoh - Mandarin Kitchen is at Bayswater opp Royal China. Their lobster noodles are v good as is their Roast Duck. And pretty reasonable too. Royal China's dimsum is v popular so go early. For angmo food, try the salt beef sandwiches at Selfridges on Oxford Street. If you really wanna splurge ( a little) park yourself at the Iberico Ham counter at Harrods food hall and order a nice bottle of champagne to go with their fantastic selection of ham. Shiok!!
Sweee...thanks for the tip!

If I'm not mistaken, I seem to remember the Fat Duck was in the news quite recently re poor hygiene.
For true fine dining experience, they shouldn't be making the news in this way! You need deep pockets to eat there and a lot of patience because of the waiting list.
I am sure someone has said this - sorry I only read a selection of the posts on this thread.
Do check out Jermyn Street and Burlington Arcade (they are very close by). While you are in that vicinity, go to Fortnum and Mason too to buy traditional delicacies.
