Apparently I understand was that Apple would target the bigger 1st tier market in the 1st launch, and the rest in the 2nd launch... Read it sometime early this year or late last yr after Singtel announced that they are bringing it in..

considering that the aussies were using since july .......... normally sg will have release first.

according to my friend the signal not that good because only using 2100hz signal.... whereas if there was the 850 band it would be better

These guys are capitalising on the market lah.. I definitely doubt it will hit above SGD700 with a decent plan.. this is bcos it is exclusive and the 3G BOM (Built of material) is significantly cheaper than the 1st gen iphone for that purpose.. i.e. cost cutting.

I still feel it won't cost >S$600 with a decent plan.. the idea of a plan is to get subsidised rates for the phone mah... >$600 can get from US liao I suppose.. I mean the lock one... My US partner surely would assist me if I needed but bcos its lock (and no definite certainty that it can be unlocked), I didn't see the point to..

Why I said NO certainty that it can be unlocked? My broker friend got his 2 wks back from US and ordered the "hack chip" from HK. Till today, he still can't get it to work... he owned a 1st gen iphone that he unlocked it himself with the programs from the net.... Reports mentioned that China managed to unlock the 3G (it was on yahoo I think) but duno if its really a genuine case or just a rumour?? Anybody know for a fact a friend of yrs managed to get an unlocked 3G iphone??
