I guess it depends on a few issues, namely:

                  1) Cost of Rental Received. Eg, $50 a week for a rolex?
                  2) Number of Days rented out. Say, 1 Day, 1 week, 1 month?
                  3) Purpose - E.g, Wedding? Office Wear? Or Even Diving?
                  3) Collateral? Hefty Deposit or another watch from the renter ?
                  4) Credibility of Renter. One may even a replica back from the renter
                  5) Accountability for Damage. i.e, scratches or even loss of watch.

Plus, some watch bracelet has to be changed to fit the renter too.

Guess loan or exchange of watches between a mutual friend can be more healthy than renting one out.

But then again, it is something to think about! Good idea.

but you gonna transplant the engine where?

imo to rent out watch, mean wife can also rent out

but in all seriousness one can accumulate a collection of watches (those they dont wear) and rent out, however the terms and conditions would have to be clearly stated.

Think it's nt right to compare renting of watches to cars/houses. Yes, thre's this element of switching a watch from authentic to fake and vice versa. An example; I rent out my fake ROLEX passing it off as real and when it is returned to me, I make false claim against the "renter". Possible?
