  • Body Scanners at Airports

    Speaking of airports...

Have S'pore implemented XRays or Body Scanners in our airports?

Heard from my parents that Canada has already implemented them and have received a big woohah! People there complain that everything can be "seen"; from the size of the cucumber to the fried eggs on an ironing board, from uncut pickles to chocolate chips! Citizens there say there could also be cases of racial profiling.

If S'pore implements this, just imagine having Fann Wong or Zoe going the XRay and all the security personnel pays special attention on the monitor.

There must be a simpler way to ward-off our fear of having explosives or weapons being carried on board. Maybe S'pore's top brains could build a special "room" the size of a person, which does two things:-

    1) It will detect any weapons and sound an alarm.
    2) When it detects explosives, it will automatically detonate it inside with the person. On the outside, all one hears is a muffled boom, then an announcement for the cleaning crew to come to "The Room".

There wont be any worries and the airline can resell the available seat again.

Also this wont have any racial profiling or FT profiling at all...

    Just my thots lah!

Singapore don't have it. And I don't think will have it unless countries like US make it madatory requirement.

Too expensive to own and operate. With 200+ millions profit, they have to increase landing fees, implement transit fees etc. To recover cost.
They are busy enough to recover cost now.

With new machines, they will need to work harder to recover cost.

      ? don't get your idea.

you mean the box will detonate within the airport? you want the airport to create homicide without trial?
