personally, i prefer to shop out of CBD area. price is slightly more competitive. service is all about the same since you know what you want. bottom line is what additional items they can give you with X price

You can also try Parasilk at Holland V or Upp Thompson.

to me most of the offers competitive pricing, to get even better pricing u have to know them in person or a regular.

I don't go to 1 fixed shop, it all depends on availability of stock, and location

It makes sense that shops out of CBD area can offer slightly better pricing due to lower overheads. From what i've heard, just stay away from lucky plaza

Yup stay out of lucky plaza and sim lim if u r not sure of what u r buying.

Most of the shop prices are similar. So I reckon it's better to reduce risk than saving 50~80
after all most people don't buy camera as fast as phones.

Last time I went holland v parisilk. So far ok.

So far for me I buy from Cathay Photos(CBD) & Ms Color(AMK) because their sale staff knowledge of equipments is good . I also get them to quote through emails and see which is the best. You will be surprise sometime Cathay Photos can offer better deal. These are just my experience.

Personally I always go the MSColor in Ang Mo Kio Centre (not the one in Ang Mo Kio Hub) to look for Jackson

what does AMK stand for? -- singapore is small enough to get outside CBD, I don't know any dealers well enough as I am a 'tourist' in their eyes. But willing to go outside CBD to sight-see as well as maybe get a better deal :-)

AMK = Ang Mo Kio. It is one of the neighbourhood centre. to get there, just take the MRT to AMK station.
