Got banned on *** :O (AGAIN)

u cant say that they are trigger happy. maybe indeed the members posted something that is not in accordance to the rules. in sg-roc at least there is warning. only severe cases where there is a direct ban.

a direct ban to me means a member committed an act which is serious.

moral of the story: dont post; and let the forums die a slow and painful death due to trigger happy mods

dont say you get cold turkey. when i was a mod, not able to login here, i suffering from withdrawal symptons already. these days, you may noticed that at stretch of days, i dont post because i have administrative tasks to do. but i will still come back and post. it is fellow members continual effort in posting that this forum thrives. the sharing of ideas, information, etc that makes it a joy for me to log in to chit chat.

Maybe due to this, I find if I tio ban there, I might be sad for a while cos less one place to sell my stuff. But if compared to being banned here, I might need cold turkey for a while Ultimately, maybe the forum owners prefer the place to be viewed as merely yet another for sale place rather than a cosy committee.

Not necessary the mods at *** are trigger happy; but there are some people who when are mods of a forum, decide to use their full power to their advantage.

I remember in one of the apple forums down under; there was one guy (keyboard warrior) who would ban people for simply not agreeing with him.

another forum lowyat.net there was a couple of posters (mod) who would give people hell for posting anti fanboy remarks.

i havent frequented ***; but will keep an eye out and maybe register one day. As i said above; if people feel "restricted" in a forum, and rules are enforced to the dot; then people will eventually flock away and go elsewhere.

like i mentioned; there was a couple of mac forums down under that went bust because the mods there were a bunch of douches.

IMO, *** is more like classified ad then actual forum. Only good for buy/sell. Nothing else of much interest there, their discussion groups(as mentioned by bro exxondus) very quiet. More exciting things going on here!

strangely, if you are banned by ***, how come you can still PMed the mod?? if you as a moderator ban someone in here, can that person use the PM function in this forum?

Yes, even when you are banned you have access to the forum but u cannot see the contents and all it says is, you have been banned and till when. PM functions are still accessible.

My friend..just 1. Darkangel has been my signature nick and a member since 12-28-2007. I have better things to do than to create multiple nicks because everyone knows me by darkangel...and it isn't hard to track if I m using a duplicate nick.
