Might be getting the new macbook pro, and my old imac of 4-5 yrs is still working fine (that's the problem with Mac. They really last). Are there any shops in sg that accept trade ins ? thanks

Any mac users here upgrade to OSX Lion yet?

Downloaded and install last night. You will want to read on how to make a bootable dvd as lion is only offered as an app store download.

now with that out of the way; I've noticed some changes

      1) mail and ical seem to have got a facelift
      2) less resource hungry than before
      3) spaces have changed, as has expose
      4) mouse scrolling is same as ipad/iphone (but can revert to traditional scrolling)

to those who upgrade, care to share your experiences.

I haven't done it. Plan to do but want to wait for a retailed release if possible. What if system crash and need to re-install? I believe the Lion should be better.

Retail box of OS X Lion? Not likely to happen. Jobs is moving away from that distribution model for apps.

It's either thru App store or new Mac machine with Lion pre-installed.

Using this weekend to do housekeeping on my main machine, and getting the other machine ready for OS X Lion update.
And then to get a US iTunes gift card, a buck short in my iTunes account for Lion.

it wont be a problem if you created your own boot dvd. takes all but 5mins to do quite literally.

so far the response to lion has been positive. some complaints here and there, but nothing that would put me off.

for those who still using legacy apps; check here for a list of compatible apps. i got burnt, my paragon ntfs doesn't work anymore, there goes my backup drive for now

vlc works like a treat for me tho. didn't update software either. not too sure on the others.

if using geek tool to monitor system performance, may i suggest istat menu 3.

for the record, my paragon was outdated by 2 versions. with latest version, now my ntfs support is back.

Upgraded over the weekend. Some programs are still not compatible. Bought a trackpad to be used for my imac with the new gestures. So far so good.
