I drive but I take public transport as well. The good watch I seem so far in MRT are...a gold VC, AP black diver( a few times already), AP RO, reverso and nautilus( all wore by different ppl and a few look like expat.)
Car in sg is a liability. After 10 years u get back maybe 20% or less of what you paid.
Watch on the other hand actually retains value reasonably well with super low maintenance cost vis-a-vis a car and in some rare cases actually appreciate in value so you wear for free for 10 years or more and can still make some money.
The other downside for car is peculiar to sg. Our stoooopid ownership system means we only own it for 10 years. Not sure you can consider that ownership at all...
I seldom see nice watches on bus/mrt..
I wish I can have both watch and car nice nice too..
Usually. Nice watch.. then nice car.. then nicer watch... then..
I used to think both are must have. But of late,to be more practical, a nice watch from either top three heritage brands from swiss( PP, AP or JLC, IMO) Reason? Car can get you into trouble... how? speeding... got busted for driving 88km/hr at lornie road(70/hr). Maybe the TP pity me that I become the target of troll here( who resemble another troll in the past who like to put good funny short video and multi-quote his target or directly reply to his target repeatly but tks for the funny video anyway) and decided to give a warning letter instead.
So watch is still more practical...
if you have a good watch, it will appreciate in value....but a car........ but then, if you have the financial means of keeping both a great car and watch, get both!
