Seiko SBDX001 Marine Master 600 - Bang for buck,GS undecorated movement, looks like the sea dweller, and fits nicely on Asian wrists even though crown diameter is 42mm.

Maybe you can try Orient Star Air diver (AKA Orient Star Revolver), it is solidly built and light on the wallet too.

For Seiko, Grand Seiko and Casio, where do you go for the best deals specifically in Tokyo?

Try Kame Kichi and Jack Road in Tokyo. Short stroll from Nakano station.

Best price is at the ADs which are usually the departmental stores like taka, isetan, daimaru, seibu etc. if u have the isetan card and pay cash there's a 5% discount iirc. But their stocks are very limited.
Grey dealers normally sell higher than the ADs for certain hard to get popular models like sub-c, hulk. I feel it's no point buying from grey dealers in Japan as their prices are about same as local SG grey dealers.

Kinda hard to tell about prices between grey dealers in Japan and here in Singapore due to the state of flux in prices because of the Swiss Franc. I have tried both and all are great when I got what I wanted. So there is some truth that grey dealers here could give good deals too.

Regardless, ADs and grey dealers in Japan are worth visiting.

On the way out of Changi Airport, do visit the Rolex shop there too.

Actually jackroad's website states the RRP (ie the AD price) as well as their prices, so it's easy to tell how much higher (or sometimes lower) they are selling vs the AD price.

With the recent adjustment in RRP, this might change the game a little. Basically the Japan grey sets are also from Europe mainly, I rather get from sg locally. There is also the risk of getting hit with GST on the flight back.

The Gassan rolex shop? For popular models they either have no stocks or if it's a Hulk or Batman or Daytona, it's premium pricing. No point getting there, don't realy like the service also.
