It's slightly below the Premier series imo. Anyway I don't think Seiko 5 has 5 hours of power reserve! That's really really cui leh...

if they put the number 6 instead of 5 for the next upgrade version, then maybe ppl will say 5 looks better.

btw, 6 may denote enhanced power reserve...haha hope it does.

Seiko 5 stands for 5 qualities of the watch, but still to me, i always associate it with entry level / low end auto movements from Seiko, not that i own any high end Seiko watches (YET)

Just curious, entry or not the tolerance in difference of the seconds, is it major? Don'd mind a 5 for rough use

Actually the newer 5s mostly have the 4R series movement which is handwind and hacking so very worthwhile to get in my honest opinion. Going with a newer 5 as a beater for everyday use is a good choice as they are cheap, tough and reliable.

The 5 logo does cheapen the image, but only marginally. But if it comes with 4R movement it would be a reasonable catch. Hope I won't be similarly 'labeled', lolz

Actually don't know why so many feel the seiko 5 badge cheapens the watch? It's just another brand logo? Most people wouldn't know what it represents and that it's Seiko's entry level mechanical range anyway.

No offense, but if you think the '5' logo makes the watch cheap, then you are just another superficial being.
