  • Pam 298

    hi,
    i'm wondering why isn't the PAM298 a popular model?
i don't seem to read anything about it in any of the forums I've been to..

i'm eyeing this as my first Panerai cos it's a 40mm, most other pieces are 44mm, and they look huge on me. i look like my nephew wearing his Ben 10 watch.. haha...

any opinions on this piece are very welcome!
    thanks

    Good day,

PAM 298 would be a relatively nice piece but for that price point (RRP $ 9,450), there are quite a few selections within the region. And there is also the consideration of the metal bracelet, which would not be an immediate favorite amongst aficionados, except a select few?

For a couple hundred bucks more, I personally prefer PAM 312 or even 244..

    But that's just my 2cents..

    Cheers!

44mm is the bread and butter of pam models and IMO you shouldn't be too worried about them looking too big... Pick the one that you love and just go for it!

Here's my 2 cents. I'm actually pretty new to panerai. Having only bought my first recently.
Here's my take. For big watches, you should wear it diferently. try wearing it on your wrist joint instead of below it. And hang it loose as well. IMO, the wrist joint is the biggest part of the wrist. If you wear it below the wrist, the watch tends to look too big or too small. Just my two cents worth.
I don't have enuf watches but I will stop buying now!

Personally, i think i would prefer a leather strap anyday. I'd leave the steel bracelets to my Rolexes instead.
I'm recently looking at the 48 or the 244 for the 40mm range for my lady for the pretty pretty dials, but i suspect she finds them too small to make a statement. IMHO, PAMs r acknowledged for its size as much as for the Arabic numbers and the recognizable crown.

Why don't u try on one or two, take a few photos of them on your wrist, and you will know the beauty of it.

          Cheers!

Hi dave, any idea how much a 244 cost? The local shop is asking for SGD8400 for the piece that it has. I'm a recent collector of PAMs and i'm not too sure if that's a bargain or not.

            Cheers
