Yes it is funny actually. I guess this is part and parcel of a watch collection process. Usually when I am focused on a target, I sell some to fund for the new one. After awhile seller remorse sets in then have to buy back again. After getting a new target, gotta sell again to fund for another new one....the process goes on and on. It is contradicting, I agree but its due to me having an itchy backside and insufficient funds for so many new loves

    Panerai = cult.

Very deep. Every model has its meaning and story. Before Richemont take over and after take over.

Even today many not know much about Panerai. They tell you they all look the same. But Panerai never make the same thing twice. 8 days on dial, Linear PR indicator, Sec arm, 60mm, 47mm, 44mm, 42mm, 40mm, left handed, right handed, t-dial, painted dial, embedded dial, faux paux patina, 1940s case, 1950s case, Egyptian navy, Marina Militare (it bascially means Italian Navy), black, gold, steel, titanium, bronze, luminor, radiomir, submersible case.

Sometime have to talk to a person who wears a Pam to find out how exclusive this watch is. 425 and 449 eh?

If you are lookin for a watch that say to the world it costs alot of $$. Then Panerai is probably not. Because it is very difficult to tell.

The other day I saw this chap wearing a shadow only after speaking with him in the boutique!

    LOL.. What's Shadow? What's Ghost?

    So cult isn't it...

just look at some models of Panerai, you will think it's really exquisite!
but of course, when it comes to taste,
    it's to each his own.

    Keep it simple :

" panerai is for men and not for boys "

    1) A fashion statement

    3) Panerai Luminor and 1950s case is very distinct, one look, you know its a Panerai.
    4) For Horological Fans, the DNA, the history of the brand, etc.

For myself, I love the designs, especially the 1950s case and sandwich dials with dome crystals, for eg. fiddy, 233, 372. Whenever its on my wrist, I cant stop smiling whenever I look at the Pam on my wrist. Its just so beautiful. It is one of a kind regardless of what horological brand or history snobs say. There are many saying its DNA and history is simply a fashion watch or a brand that has strong marketing not worth its salt in the world of Horology.

To me, it is simply the one to be owned and kept.

That said, I am targeting a Pam in the near future, even after selling off my Pams previously. That is how powerful the lure of Panerai is.
I have been told and advised that one should always be upgrading in terms of brands but regardless, Pams are simply a must have in one's collection.

I Love Pams and their signature design. Pam ah Pam, when are you coming back to me again? LOL!

Straps changing. Sandwich dial. Glow. Then again... a Marina Militare does the same job at a fraction of the price

    The lure of PAM?

The fatest & easiest way to suddenly look macho. At least I thought I look so...

The lure for me is the interesting inhouse movement and chunky yet curvy 1950 case
Sword second hand and sandwich dial looks cool too

Another uniqueness about panerai is its ability to sport a different look with change of straps
