what do you call the ring of 'rolex rolex rolex' around the inner case?

    what do you call the ring of 'rolex rolex rolex' around the inner case?

    and why is it that in some pics, there isn't this imprint of 'rolex' around the inner case? e.g., this one has it - http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2008-...ilvconara3.jpg but this one doesn't - http://www.zpwatches.com/ebay/23748623487/diamond4.JPG

    am i seeing things? or does it appear only on selected models/year?

    some people called it the rolex chapter ring or rehaut....

    think it was introduced sometime in late 2007. cannot be sure. not all models have the rolex chapter ring.

      oh right, read about this chapter ring thingie... was wondering what they are. thanks!

      funny thing is, the datejust with the chapter ring is a z series while the datejust without the chapter ring is an m series. at least that's what their ebay ads say.
