the engraving on the flange has no effect on waterproof rating....

it's just an engraving..... that's all

Sea Dweller and Chapter Ring

Is there any reasons why all Rolex models except the Sea Dweller doesn't have the chapter ring ?

Even the new deep sea, the engraving is not at the side but an additional flat ring on the face ?

Is it because of the special waterproof requirements that prevents Rolex from putting in the chapter ring ?
