speculation has it that the SD may be going thru a revamp (just like the GMT)and will be shown in basel 08 so rolex adjourned the idea of placing the chapter ring in the SD. rumour will be at best hearsay so guess we'll wait til april.

but i personally prefer one with the ring but since SD doesn't come with it, guess i will have to wait out for the purported new SD or the polar expII.

I keep hearing that Rolex will be moving towards replacing all their movements with their Parachrom hairspring. For now, only the Milgauss and GMT IIc have it? If that's the intent, then likely SD & Sub will get it next right?

Very likely. I thought the Daytona also has a Parachrom hairspring? Maybe I remember wrongly...

Yupz. The SS Daytona 116520 is driven by the 4130. So I think it also has the parachrom hairspring. Thanks for clarifying

as far as i know, the next range of rollies will be so darn expensive. i seriously cannot comprehend the mkt strategy of rolex. then again, the asian mkt is prob the farthest from their minds.

Tough choice. Next watch should be a Daytona or GMT IIc...

So should probably buy more now.

Anyway, read up on the manufacturing process of the Parachrom Bleu. Man, that's impressive.
