Hi allow me to share.
In present context, most, if not all credit cards give interest-free installment plan for all watches, including ROLEX. It is not wrong to say that if you wish to use the credit card for an installment plan, the AD gives a lower discount. That means if you can pay lump sum in cash or even credit card (no installment plan), the AD gives 20%. And for the same purchase, if you want an interest-free installment plan on credit card, the AD may only give 15%, or may be lesser. So its all up to you.
But there are times that the AD gives you the bigger discount even if you go on installment. This will come with the relationship you have with the AD.
Hope this helps. Thank you.

i think most banks offered no interest installments plan, but they will charged an one time admin fee something like 3% for 12mths and 5% for 24mths ( if i don't remember wrongly )Originally posted by wmatt76 View Postsome major banks did give some cash fund transfer with interest less than CC interest. just need to pay installments back to them every month. HSBC and DBS used to have this promotion. They always send to me together with my CC bills.

Indirectly ...yes. Actually the credit limit for the cc remains the same. But the available amount you can sign for becomes Credit Limit minus the amount you've put in installment plan lor.Originally posted by triton View Postur kills off meaning lowering credit limit?116261

it can be interpreted in couple of waysOriginally posted by bEnd1ck View PostIndirectly ...yes. Actually the credit limit for the cc remains the same. But the available amount you can sign for becomes Credit Limit minus the amount you've put in installment plan lor.
scenario one. the cc limit is low and has several instalment plans in place. so with a watch purchase, it can literally max out the cc limit
scenario two. lowers existing credit limit however, if cc limit is high and purchase of watch price is low, does not affect that much.
there are other possible scenarios. that is why i wanted to check with gollum the definition of 'kill off'. however u replied instead.
