in the event the pins become rusty (assuming u go diving often or corrosion/rusty over time), it's easier to replace them with lug holes.

of course, newer series rollies have no lug holes...so people can instantly tell...

aesthetically, no difference the way i look at it...rolex designs have not changed for donkey years anyway....

              It's all depend.

My D-series SS sub date I prefer NO lug holes.

My 1680 SS Sub date I prefer with lug holes cos it looks more vintage.

              Cheerio,

For you to change strap yes it's easier...but for those professional got hole or not they still can do

for me, it is just asthetics.

lug holes or not does not affect the performance of a watch.

im more concern with the movements of the watch rather than asthetics.

all i can say is that with lug holes, the watch is older compared than with no lug holes.

my question to you is - is asthetics more important than movements of watch? with this, you have an answer to whether which series you are looking @.

personal preference but i agree with what the seniors are saying. vintage pieces should have the lug holes compared to the later ones. ultimately, it's up to the individual.
