in the event the pins become rusty (assuming u go diving often or corrosion/rusty over time), it's easier to replace them with lug holes.
of course, newer series rollies have no lug holes...so people can instantly tell...

It's all depend.
My D-series SS sub date I prefer NO lug holes.
My 1680 SS Sub date I prefer with lug holes cos it looks more vintage.

for me, it is just asthetics.
lug holes or not does not affect the performance of a watch.
im more concern with the movements of the watch rather than asthetics.
all i can say is that with lug holes, the watch is older compared than with no lug holes.

personal preference but i agree with what the seniors are saying. vintage pieces should have the lug holes compared to the later ones. ultimately, it's up to the individual.Remnants of my irresponsibility:
