  • Rolex 116600 Sea dweller 4000

H, went to a pawnshop. Sea dweller 4000 cost $10100 with no box, no cert, no manual but one year warranty from pawnshop. The watch looks like mint condition since this model is so new.

    Is it worth buying?

    Subjective. I won't buy w/o proper cert.

But those pawnshop are quite reputable plus this model is so new. If it's old model, high chances of Frankenstein. So I am quite comfortable to buy w/o cert. So it's just a matter of prices.

Individual preference, no right or wrong. As long as you are happy and comfortable to buy from a pawnshop then do it. Just do due diligence, if you want to.

In the article where two Hong Kongers were arrested, the watch companies mentioned are also reputable and experienced companies.

no box and no cert, i wont buy it. it does not matter if the pawnshop offers 1 year warranty. it does not matter if pawn shop is reputable or not. it is not likely to misplace a warranty card within such short period,

box and manual can be bought. but warranty card cannot be bought.

as thread starter mentioned, it is a new model. launch in 2014. discontinued in 2017. it is barely 3 years old and there is no box and cert?

since you are comfortable in buying w/o certificate, then go ahead as price takes priority over completeness of a set.
