  • Source for original GMT bezel inserts?

    hi,
I'm thinking of changing the black bezel insert on my GMT-II 16710 to coke (red/black) . Does anyone know of a source I can buy original inserts?

I would like to keep the original black one... so taking it to RSC is not an option.

importing may be your alternative, but from WHO, I am not sure.

Can you take out your black bezel and send in your watch to ROC to get a "replacement"?

            ugh.
            RSC only charges $75.

That's got to be a better way.

Brand spanking new, folks. Includes the fixing. Difference is, you get to keep your original one, whilst RSC MOFOs confiscate it.....

Again, yes, pricey but you get everything tip-top from the guy....

when we go to RSC, we expect the replacement to be brand new. however, take for example, i take in my red/black GMT in and request for a blue/red bezel. anyone knows what do they do with the one they removed?

for all we know, they could like clean it and put it on for another customer who brings in a blue/red and request for a red/black instead? if they take the one removed from the previous client and put it on this one, then viola, they charge 150 for just removing and putting on inserts.

bearing this in mind, can experts advise potential buyers of bezel inserts

                        1) how to spot an original from fake? * most important when dealing with non-RSC*
                        2) how to tell the difference between a used one and original one?

According to RSC they destroy it (send back to Geneva). That is why they cannot release to customer even when we buy. It is 1 to 1 exchange.

I think this is something they(RSC) will not want to take the risk (as brought up by Triton),ie to use a used pc as new for another unknowing customer. Simple reason: RSC conduct random/surprise checks periodically and a customer may nt be actually a 'customer'. Rather, they hv their spies to test out for quality check purposes.

I was told by several ADs and even some friends that even when customers not known to them bargain hard for a bigger discount that they could give for ROLEXes, they'd nt yield because there were incidents that RSC spies went out to catch these errant ADs and these ADs were penalised.

                            Share-share la..
