  • Submariner non date 14060m

I have come across this pre own january 2009 piece M series.
Before I dig out my hard earn money for my first rolex I have 3 questions:
    1) from Internet they say there should be no ticking sound, but if I put the watch very close to my ear I can hear the ticking sound? Should it he like quartz movement quite?
    2) for this watch is there a very fine laser etched crown on the glass at 6 o'clock position?
    3) there are pin holes?

    Thanks.

yes, sure will hear but it does not mean anything. if you are concerned, go to Tong Building to pay for verification.

    2) for this watch is there a very fine laser etched crown on the glass at 6 o'clock position?

    yes.

    3) there are pin holes?

14060 will always have pin holes.

    cheers.

              1) from Internet they say there should be no ticking sound, but if I put the watch very close to my ear I can hear the ticking sound? Should it he like quartz movement quite? Yes, that is the ticking sound. However, it is different to the quartz movement

              2) for this watch is there a very fine laser etched crown on the glass at 6 o'clock position? yes, for a 2009 watch, there should be a laser erched crown

              3) there are pin holes? Yes, for all Submariner No Date. http://precisiontime.blogspot.com/20...o-no-date.html . It is one of the features that 14060M should have.

                14060M still around?

Sorry bros for the hijackin' of this thread.

When does one know that Rolex gonna stop production of 14060M?Base on the BASEL show in this March?

Or Rolex evolved on something on it?
Like such as the new Sub has ceramic bezel on it.

Based on what I've read on this forum.

                Thank you for your advise.

Not just with ROLEX but in most brands, whenever a new model is introduced in the BaselWorld, an annual international watch event, the older model is naturally discontinued. So far I've not heard any brand having given an official announcement of sort of the discontinuation of a watch model. So an indication if the 14060M is discontinued will have to be what the BaselWorld brings.

Oh...Good Luck with your new watch Bro Fhfoomelaka.

I've read some reviews of 14060M...
They are the early days work horse invented by Rolex.
Rolex built just for the industrial divers of those days man.How sweet of them.
But nowadays more into profit and marketing,I think?
                          A good choice of selection.

                          Thanks.

Correct all the non date sub range are lug hole cases, and to the original poster all mechanical watches tick and if you have good hearing you will hear it.All modern day Rolex movements beat at 28800 BPH just like most modern movements today, some fast beat like the Zenith El-Primo beat at 36000 BPH.
