  • Pre-Owned Explorer

    Hi,

Saw a Explorer II (should be lah cos white face one) at a pawn shop.....they selling S$4.5K and was told that owner worn 5 yrs liao.

From one look is Explorer II and did not ask for it out of the display to look see and did not ask for discount as I merely passed by the pawn shop & really do not like staying too long there.

Is it worth paying S$4.5K assuming its really Explorer II?

    Thanks!

is it worth? depends on some criteria such as which series, what is the condition of the watch - scratches, dinks? how about the last service done?

Yup...agreed with Triton. If it is the older series, and is in good condition...not a bad price, but must bargain...hahaa

If it's pawn shop, you may want also to check whether it comes with box and papers.

Another thing to consider is the bracelet.older models use non-flip lock clasp.
considered less desireable,.....unless U r a collector like me.To me....older models MUST be fitted wif non flip lock clasp.

Personelly, I prefer the non flip-lock. I find the flip-lock very fussy.

I was offered a 16700 with non flip-lock... but it got sold by mistake despite being kept for me

Depends la...flip lock won't come out easily if u accidentally hit it

Flip lock is good if the watch is often worn for ruggard use.

Don't mind my question... do you mind paying $4.5k for a 5 year old Exp II or a $5k for a 1 year old Exp II? Actually, I have asked around a few friends who got pre-owned Exp II... They told me it kind of hovering above $4k even for 7 to 10 years old... (depending of conditions, of cos)... so depreciation kind of stop there anyway.. me newbie.. just my thoughts
