As what I was adviced by my fellow SG-ROCer.....before I bought my sub... need to do leg work yourself... and try your luck at different ADs... even when someone tell you they got for a certain price at a particular AD, they might not offer you the same price... then there is also the issue of different sales staff... so for me I walk walk here, walk walk there..

and if you managed to get a good price at a particular AD.. you make sure you get the sales person's name and make sure he remember you and the price he offer... and you better go back latest in a day...

Darkie, what I say correct right... must do leg work for your rollie...hehe

Agreed .. must do "homework" one then can get the best deal in town

Anyway I learned that during the process of purchasing a time-piece (realised I did not use the word "rollie", cos now I also gotten the PAM bug), the most enjoyable part for me is doing the research of the watch, going around checking on prices etc. Because of the desire to own the watch, I would check all possible forums around, so much so that my wife gave up on me saying "see watch again " ... Once bought, then all the excitement will be gone and I will be left with a big hole burnt in pocket and a watch ... Then the desire to own the next will come ... and the cycle repeats ... except that the burnt hole is getting bigger & bigger ... no chance to mend it .

I'd like to know if there is any member here who recently bought a brand new Submariner LV from local AD? How much does it cost now?

During this economic downturn, do local ADs give generous discounts??

            Thank you for your sharing.
The economic situation is expected to be very challenging then, so retailers of luxury goods will have to give huge discounts.

Pre-Christmas and Pre-Chinese New Year are not good times to buy luxury items.

Diff is slight. Obvious feature is the color. LV is more expensive, in the range of $900-$1,000 more. No reason why some watch collectors/lovers prefer LV over Sub black. It's personal, just like you. Btw, LV is produced to mark some anniversary thingy.

                  Cheers.

The price are different because it is totally different Models althought both are same Submariner. One is 16610 and the other is 16610LV. the same theory as Milgauss GV.

it quite true that during festive seasons, really not a good time to get it..especially during year ends where most people getting bonus...any time before march adjustment during the year will be advisable for those wanna get a good deal.

                            sub

thanks for all the reply. Have not personally went down but have made enqueries by phone and so far the lowest quote for the black is 7.6k. Maybe I should wait for after CNY when the discount might be more

WP seems to be a good AD to buy rolexes as they are one of the ADs that offer low price.....
