Since you said that...you should have dealed with him a couple of times,what do you think of what he says? He maybe a reputable dealer la...but he is not a fortune teller. What he wants to do is to sell you watches..

so far for me is that i take his advice but as u see i am not experienced in rolex stuff so i normally take his word for it.still trying to learn more info from this forum.

personally, i do not think you should take the word of your AD. these days, there is the internet.

i also tell my staff, if you cannot find answers, google.

there are heaps of information available. however, one needs to know how to use keywords and techniques on how to filter information that is only required/interested in.

I did read somewhere that the Sub 16610 and maybe dweller 16600 are due for an update (each has been in production for at least 20 years?) ... recall reading somewhere that it's like end 2008 or 2009.

... my guess is, the 14060M , COSC certified variant will end up being a "transition" model ... because in 2-3 years they will probably change it to a maxi-dial version with a 6-digit reference... 114060 is my guess!

So if you are into collecting, the COSC 14060M is probably a good bet.

A friend also told me that Rolex has started making replacement Red Sub dials again ... more as parts for old watches... not sure if its true.

went to alfred at golden mile today and he told me rolex not going to make any more subs without date and he said prices of this model will likely increase in time to come.anyone heard this news too?

If Al got a 16610 date sub for sale.....he'll probably say they will be phased out next year also.....
