    • Safe to buy from non-authorised Rolex dealer

Safe to buy from non-authorised Rolex dealer?

Saw some rolex watches that I like but it is a non-authorised dealer.

Safe, as long as you know your stuff.

        • I am looking for 2012 SubC and 2008 GMT Master. Any suggestions where should I visit? I am based in KL, traveling to Singapore at times.

For a start, you may consider to approach the forum advertisers. There are quite a number here. Alternatively, in the forum sales sections, there are several reputable and experienced grey dealers whom you can also check with. Otherwise, some others that I can think off my mind now would be:

            http://www.ebronzeage.com/
            http://www.watchlink.com.sg/
            http://www.monster-time.com/
            http://www.visiotime.com/
            http://www.passions.com.sg/v2/
            http://www.hjwatch.com/
            http://www.jwwatch.com/

            Good luck

If you want documentation from them - which is basically a slip with the RSC letterhead that says "servicing charges - $75", you pay $75 for it. The paper will not say "watch authenticated, 100% rolex" but the issuing of the slip to you is taken to mean that watch is authentic and ok. They will not give you documentation for a watch which is fake. They may however, not give you that slip if an authentic Rolex watch contains critical parts or too many parts which are non-rolex - for instance if an important part of the movement contains foreign parts - making it a "franken" watch.

It's ok to tell the counter people that you are getting the watch checked because you are considering buying it.
Thanks v much...good and useful insights.

You may try the above companies. Alternatively, go to the ROLEX Service Centre?

                              Hi,
I am new to this forum, trying to catch up the thread and enjoying reading it.
Can any kind soul share with me what are the steps to buy direct from seller to ensure authenticity.
                              Thanks.

                              • as a rule of thumb, when you wind your watch, it is no longer as smooth. it means it is about time to service.

however, there are others who suggest it to be serviced once every 2-3 years.
