Advisory : Recommendation for first Rolex?

I'm new to Rolex. My wife just gotten me my first Rolex as a Christmas gift and I chose a 2 tone Daytona with black dial!. Feeling excited... can't stop looking at it.

oh ok.. thks.. so those datejust with pinholes are normally how old? 90s to early 2000? is it worth getting one with pinholes or we should go with the new models without pinholes?

how to determine which movement the watch is? mine is a datejust 116234...
